Connections deals you sixteen words and hides four secret groups of four among them. Find every group without making four mistakes and the board is yours - but the puzzle is engineered with overlapping categories designed to bait you away from the truth.
Purple-tier answers usually involve wordplay such as homophones, hidden words or things that precede a common phrase. Scan for the most specific group first, and remember that a word fitting two clusters almost certainly belongs to the trickier one. The New York Times publishes a new board daily.
